The FHA is the representing body of the Dutch automotive sector. The FHA represents the automotive industry, knowledge institutes and sector organizations. As a part of their ‘Vision 2020’ the FHA wants to achieve that a Chinese OEM or important Tier establishes a base in The Netherlands for European Field-tests, Customization, Research & Development and Manufacturing. This document provides the reasons why the FHA considers this can best be achieved in the sector of electric vehicles.
Cooperation in The Netherlands
The FHA develops this project in cooperation with Dutch partners, especially
with the national Formule E-team that coordinates all programs aimed at
developing the market of electric vehicles in the Netherlands. Chairman
is Prince Maurits of Orange. The FHA represents the Dutch automotive sector
in the Formule E-team. Autobinck aims to acquire the European distribution
for Chinese OEMs. Autobinck also concluded the best chances are for Chinese
Electric Vehicles and is has already established a network and operational
base in China for this purpose. Since European operations of a Chinese OEM
most likely start with import and distribution with R&D as a possible
next step the FHA aims to team up with Autobinck.
Cooperation in China
To achieve the goal described above the FHA seeks cooperation with a local
Chinese representative to set up a network of contacts and interest prospects
to meet the FHA and develop a feasibility study for a Dutch based European
(technical) operation centre.
Set up of this document
This document serves as input information for (candidates for) the Chinese
representative for the FHA project. It has many elements of a ‘Bidbook’,
but has a factual, rather than commercial tone of voice. Hence this document
is called a ‘Factbook’. This book lists the relevant facts of the Dutch
offer to the level of raising interest for further study. The facts are
described in short, bullet style text blocks. Additional information can
be found in the factsheets that are available in the appendices. The facts
are collected and described from the perspective of a Chinese company considering
a European operation. It starts with a chapter on Europe, only listing relevant
issues for building the Dutch case. It subsequently narrows down to The
Netherlands and then to the Dutch automotive sector.
